Duncan went on an alternative building and solar tour!

Cedar Hills

This place is our combined medical center, chiropractic office and community center. Jack and Sue Rice (and Wayne King, the back-cracker) are great folks and we enjoy visiting with them. This is where I get to play my guitar every so often.
Form the solar end of things, there's nothing too out of the ordinary except they use what's called a "passive tracker" for the solar panels. It relies on heating/cooling of Freon loaded tubes to track the Sun. It's out of position for sunrise since it tracks off at sunset. Although cheaper than an active tracker, it requires a lot of work to keep properly tracked.
